SECOND TERM FIRST JOURNAL

OUR 'HEROES'

All of us know that our parents are the first people to see when we were born, and they are the ones who raise us. Since we do not have any information about life, they help us discover the world. However, they should be careful because they play an important role on the rest of our life as the heroes of our childhood. There are three basic things which they should inculcate their children with in their childhood. First of all, they should teach us to love. Love is the most significant thing we should learn because if we learn to love ourselves, we love the others. For example, people who commit a crime or make harm to the society are usually the ones who do not love themselves or have problems with their families. Children who are not loved by their parents may have more tendency to be an introvert person when they have grown up. They have difficulty when it comes to show their real feelings, and it is hard for them to build intimate relationships because they do not know how to behave. Secondly, self-confidence is one of these basic things we ought to gain when we are a child. We learn to become self-confident when we see  our parents, who believe in us. For instance, children who are supported by their families are more likely to depend on themselves. Moreover, they are more self-confident because their parents respect them, and appreciate their efforts. Self-confidence and being an extrovert person are also closely related since people who have self-confidence tend to be more extrovert. Thirdly, our parents should earn our trust while we are a baby. We have to feel that they will not abandon us, and we start to learn this feeling with the help of them. Trust is the milestone of all our relationships throughout our life. We can not build a partnership or friendship if we do not trust a person. Therefore, our parents should teach us to have confidence in somebody by becoming the first exemplars of this feeling. To sum up, our childhood is the key period in which we gain three vital things and continue to have when we become an adult. Therefore, our parents should be aware of their behaviors, and they should teach us to love, to be self-confident and to trust if they want to deserve to be our ‘heroes’.
